African Americans are twice as likely to be arrested for marijuana in Colorado and Washington, both states that have legalized recreational use and sales. 14

In Colorado, between 2012 and 2014, the percentage of Hispanic and African-American arrests for teens under 18 years old increased 29% and 58%, respectively while white youth decreased in arrests by 8%.15
